I think it can work extremely well because minimalism doesn't necessarily mean everything has to be white or completely flat. I used a restrained beige design with subtle texture and paired it with simple furniture, natural wood and a few black accents. The wallpaper on https://costacover.com/collections/beige-wallpaper added warmth while keeping the overall palette quiet, so the room still feels uncluttered. I especially like that beige gives you plenty of flexibility if you decide to change furniture later, since it doesn't force the rest of the interior into one particular color scheme.
